What you’ll do
- Build and own the Roveon cloud backend — fleet APIs, deployment pipelines, and telemetry ingestion
- Design gRPC/protobuf contracts between the Roveon agent (on-device) and cloud services
- Build and operate Kubernetes-based infrastructure with a focus on reliability, scale, and cost
- Implement RBAC, audit logging, and mTLS device identity — security is first-class
- Create CI/CD pipelines for edge software deployments across robot fleets
- Define and own SLOs for the platform and build the observability stack to enforce them
What we’re looking for
- 4+ years building production backend systems in Go
- Deep Kubernetes experience — not just kubectl, but designing for failure
- Solid gRPC and protobuf experience; experience designing APIs consumed by devices
- Experience with time-series data, log aggregation, and distributed tracing
- Security-first mindset — you think about threat models, not just happy paths
Nice to have
- Prior work on IoT or edge device management platforms
- Experience with NATS, MQTT, or similar messaging systems
- Knowledge of WebRTC or low-latency video transports for teleoperation
- Contributions to open-source infrastructure tooling
